Child
and Family Tennessee
Child and Family Tennessee is a private, non-profit corporation
based in Knoxville, Tennessee since 1929. Child and Family provides
a widerange of residential and community-based mental health and
social services for children, adults and families. Child and Family
actively participates in the Knoxville Public Safety Collaborative
through the provision of offender assessments and the development
of offender case management plans.
Helen
Ross McNabb Center
Founded in 1948, the Helen Ross McNabb Center was the first community
mental health center in the State of Tennessee. Today, it is a regional,
not-for-profit, integrated system of mental health, substance abuse
and social services with 19 locations in twenty-one (21) East Tennessee
counties. The Center provided a comprehensive array of prevention
and treatment services for children and adults. Like their colleagues
at Child and Family Tennessee, staff at the Helen Ross McNabb Center
actively participate in the Knoxville Public Safety Collaborative
through the provision of offender assessments and the development
of offender case management plans.
The
Knoxville Police Department
Staffed by 416 sworn officers and 123 civilian employees, the Knoxville
Police Department (KPD) is the second largest national accredited
police department in the State of Tennessee. The KPD serves the
173,000 residents living in the city's 98 square mile area. The
KPD is organized into three main divisions:
1. Administrative Division
2. Operations Division
3. Criminal Division
The Operations Division is the part of the Department which has
been most involved with the Knoxville Public Safety Collaborative
on a daily basis. The Division's uniformed patrol branch is the
unit responsible for prevention and deterrence of criminal activity
and the provision of day-to-day police service in the community.
The Division is organized into three patrol sectors corresponding
to the Central, Eastern and Western sections of the city. Each sector
is managed by a district commander with a rank of Captain.
KPD now has four divisions (Operations, Criminal Investigation,
Administrative and Support Services) and is moving to a two-district
(East and West) set-up. District Commanders may or may not be the
rank of Captain currently.
The
Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole
The Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole is the state agency
responsible for supervising all probationers and parolees in the
State of Tennessee who have been granted state community supervision
orders. The Board's Field Services Unit, responsible for supervising
all probationers and parolees, is organized into three regions throughout
the state. The Board's East Tennessee Regional Office is the organizational
unit participating in the Knoxville Public Safety Collaborative.
