Child and Family Tennessee

Child and Family Tennessee is a private, non-profit corporation based in Knoxville, Tennessee since 1929. Child and Family provides a widerange of residential and community-based mental health and social services for children, adults and families. Child and Family actively participates in the Knoxville Public Safety Collaborative through the provision of offender assessments and the development of offender case management plans.

Helen Ross McNabb Center

Founded in 1948, the Helen Ross McNabb Center was the first community mental health center in the State of Tennessee. Today, it is a regional, not-for-profit, integrated system of mental health, substance abuse and social services with 19 locations in twenty-one (21) East Tennessee counties. The Center provided a comprehensive array of prevention and treatment services for children and adults. Like their colleagues at Child and Family Tennessee, staff at the Helen Ross McNabb Center actively participate in the Knoxville Public Safety Collaborative through the provision of offender assessments and the development of offender case management plans.

The Knoxville Police Department

Staffed by 416 sworn officers and 123 civilian employees, the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) is the second largest national accredited police department in the State of Tennessee. The KPD serves the 173,000 residents living in the city's 98 square mile area. The KPD is organized into three main divisions:

1. Administrative Division
2. Operations Division
3. Criminal Division

The Operations Division is the part of the Department which has been most involved with the Knoxville Public Safety Collaborative on a daily basis. The Division's uniformed patrol branch is the unit responsible for prevention and deterrence of criminal activity and the provision of day-to-day police service in the community. The Division is organized into three patrol sectors corresponding to the Central, Eastern and Western sections of the city. Each sector is managed by a district commander with a rank of Captain.

KPD now has four divisions (Operations, Criminal Investigation, Administrative and Support Services) and is moving to a two-district (East and West) set-up. District Commanders may or may not be the rank of Captain currently.

The Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole
